This project near Dexter, Michigan is a fully custom, estate-style backyard built around a custom ICF pool and a modern hardscape layout. From the start, the focus was making the best possible use of the space while keeping everything clean, structured, and built to last. Extreme attention to detail and precise layout drove every decision so the entire backyard works as one cohesive system.

 

Unilock pavers surround the pool and connect multiple patios, retaining walls, and elevation changes throughout the yard. An octagon patio with turf inlays creates a strong focal point, while additional turf inlays add contrast and keep maintenance low without losing the modern look. Even with the size of the property, careful layout keeps everything balanced and intentional from every angle.

 

Wide steps, tiered patios, and clear transitions connect the pool, patios, and pool house. Integrated landscape lighting highlights walls, steps, and key features so the space functions day and night. These photos show the project at roughly 90% complete, but it’s already one of the top backyard builds in the Dexter area.
